First of all, this post is not intended for all the Touch-me-Not-Touchy-Me ones out there. And also, I’m as patriotic as anyone out there. But there are certain things that desis do that makes my blood boil.
The other day I was watching The Big Fight on NDTV where the topic was Is Narendra Modi’s Aquittal in the Godhra Case by the Nanavati Committee Justified. There were Congress ppl, BJP folks, some editor from Tehelka.com and the I-ALWAYS-SCREAM-IN-THE-NAME-OF-TALKING Teesta Setalvad, the audience and the poor guy Vikram Chandra! Hell broke lose everytime anyone spoke. One’s talking and the other one is trying to shout him/her down. The other one starts and third one shrieks. Teesta howls at the BJP guy “You just SHUT UP” So it was HELL for one whole hour. It was a SHOUT MATCH. ALL BLOODY FREAKS! What the fuck were you all trying to prove you bloody dumbskulls??!!!
Cut to last nite. Same channel and the same kinda Big Fight. But this was called the Final Face Off and was between Barack Obama and John McCain. Understood that the topics are very different but I was amazed at how these two were stressing their respective points without raising their voices. When one is talking the other one is PATIENTLY listening and opens mouth only when he’s finished. PLAIN CLASSY.
Some people may argue that even in the US things are shitty and horrible, but thats not what Im trying to point. In fact Im not trying to prove/point anything. Im asking for basic etiquettes, is that asking for too bloody much?? Atleast when you are in public?! The least a person can do is hear when someone who’s as experienced as he/she (less or more) is talking. But no. Here, I want to be the first one and the ONLY one who should talk and others can please fuck off! WHETHER IM TALKING MAKES SENSE OR NOT, IS SECONDARY. And thats the attitude of almost everyone out there! I’m yet to see anyone who listens first before opening the garbage. Have met so many in my personal life! And they are so graceful! Why cant I find any in politics?

Like the woman who was with 3 of us in the lift, yesterday. All of a sudden, she burps and thats a big one. All of us stared at her and she managed a SORRY out of her smelly mouth……
Why? Why cant we behave like civilized ones? ATLEAST IN PUBLIC? PLEASE PEOPLE.
